As more magazines introduce submission windows, and competitions increase their significance, it's worth planning ahead. I shall try to submit to these (mostly UK) competitions and submission windows -

- Popshot - Theme: Truth. Short stories: 1,000-3,000 words. Flash: 100-1,000 words. Deadline 26th Feb.

- March
- Ambit - Submission window opens on 1st. Closes on 1st April
- DNAmag - 500 words on Lies & Confessions. Deadline 5th March
- National flash-fiction day competition. Free entry. 100 words. Deadline 17th March
- Thresholds feature competition, for articles about short stories, 750-2000 words. Deadline 18th March. Free entry. 1st prize £500. See the rules
